About Manali
Manali is situated in the central part of Himachal Pradesh State. It was called the end of habitant world because no human life existed beyond that. Now it is full of people thronging from all over the world for tourism. Manali has got its name after Manu, a person in Hindu mythology. According to the mythology one day Manu found a fish in his bathing water. He looked after the fish that was an incarnation 'Matsyavatar' of Lord Vishnu. On the dooms day when there was water every where, Manu built a boat and that boat was supported by this fish which has grown up by then and was put into the sea by Manu. The boat stopped at Manali after long sailing through the water. From here new was life started and hence it got its name from Manu.

Beas Kund : It is said that Sage Beas performed 'Tapa'. The place where he performed the 'Tapa' is the source of Beas River.
