Mussoorie, located at a distance of 34 km from Dehradun is a beautiful hill station developed in the times of British rule. The place derives its names from a local plant, named, Mussoorie found in plenty. Mussoorie has developed into academic and tourism destination.

Mussoorie region gives view to both holy river Ganga and yamuna flowing at either side of the city.

Best season to visit Mussoorie is from month of April to June and between September and November. Winters and monsoons are very cold making the place little unfavorable.

Gun Hill : Gun Hill is the second highest peak of the city. Here one can enjoy picnic while viewing the beauty of city and the panoramic mountains. A 400 meter long rope way can also be enjoyed at the place. The place has got its name from a gun placed here a fired in the day so that people can adjust their time.

Kempty fall : This beautiful water fall is at a distance of 15 km from Mussoorie being the biggest waterfall in the region. Tourists enjoy taking refreshing bath at the foothill.

Municipal Garden : This is a picnic spot with artificial lake and boating available at the place.

Nag Devta Temple : This is an old temple that can be visited by public transport. This temple gives a beautiful view of Dun and Mussoorie valley.

Jwalaji temple : This temple is dedicated to goddess Durga. The temple is situated in thick forest on high Benong Hill. This place gives a clear view to Himalaya Mountain and Valley.

Surkhanda Devi : According to Hindu mythology this is the place where head of one of the partners of Lord Shiv fell to stop his dance of death
